February 14, 2024 Eden, Australia Day 56 of 138
We woke up this morning to cloudy skies, and wind up to 20 mph with gusts to 27 mph. This prevented us from being able to enter Eden Harbor and dock the ship. We understand needing to keep us safe, but we are disappointed. This means we have another unexpected sea day. Goodbye Eden, sorry we missed you. Mike got a picture as we sailed by.
It is Valentine's Day so everyone is wearing their pink, red, or there own idea of Valentine's Day attire. Some are very creative. We are doing our usual Sea day activities, which most days means eat, we are trying to avoid that. Today is also Ash Wednesday, so we are trying to honor our Catholic faith.
Date night. What better view could you ask for. Valentine's Day Lobster dinner for me, Salmon for Mike with window seating and ocean view. Great way to break our fast. This is our 10th Valentine's day celebration, and little did we know 10 years later we would be traveling the world together
Understand the dinner in the Restaurant includes dessert, and most people are ordering something. As we walked out of the Restaurant, they had set up a Chocolate Buffet. Mike got pictures, but we just walked on by. I can't begin to count all the different chocolate items they offered. Those who were eating the desserts seemed to like them. This buffet was well attended.
The night ended with trivia and a show of Love songs by our Viking musicians. The talent we have on the ship is nothing short of amazing.
Now for the funny story from last night. Mike and I are in bed on day 55 of our adventure. I am playing with some light switches beside both sides of the bed. We find we have a nightlight switch, that lights our room and the bathroom with indirect light. We couldn't believe that we had not found it up to now. Oh well at least we learned it before the end of the cruise. We both have been feeling our way to the bathroom at night without the help of light. This should be much easier. LOL
Mike also got this picture of the Southern Cross during our Phillip Island tour. See the 4 brighter larger stars that form a box, or cross. I thought we saw a lot of stars at home. The sky was brilliant with the brightest stars ever. We will have some fun with the Astronomy who is coming on the ship.
