March 9, 2024 Sea Day 57 days left of 138

 Around the world in 80 days. We did not make it in 80 days, but we have seen a lot of the world, with more to come.

We will arrive tomorrow morning to Koh Samui, Thailand, and will have traveled 616 nautical miles from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. This afternoon our captain told us we were traveling at 14 knots. Last evening we were rocking and rolling, but this morning we woke up to much calmer seas. We see fishing boats everywhere, and we were told we are in pretty shallow waters, with a depth of 80 - 90 feet.

This has been a pretty quiet day. Our usual routine, with one twist, we were able to see Eric, Katie and Harper on a video call. Harper yelled out a Hi, and she was standing at their counter coloring. She appears to be using her left hand to color, but she will switch back and forth. I let Eric know his Grammy Joan always wanted a left handed grandchild, it is just one generation late. She did a great job of letting us here her new words, and signs she can do, as well as count to three. She also ran and got her purse and whistle we gave her before we left. She just continues to discover new things, and put a smile on our face.

We have to make sure to keep working on our tans, so I got some pool time, and sun time with Mike. While in the pool I met someone who has a great idea for the negative behavior from some of our fellow travelers. She and her friends are voting who should be voted off the ship. It is too bad, that some people's negative attitude are affecting others experience. This is not the trip we planned, but it is the trip we are taking, and will continue to be an adventure.

No trivia tonight, but at noon we were one of the three top teams. Rosanne called one person from each team down, and it is a speed round. Today was 5 questions before a winner was named. We missed it by this much.

Once again, we had amazing singers for our evening entertainment. Good night, tomorrow we will be in Thailand.
