December 21, 2023

First full day at Sea. Mike is feeling better, thanks for all the good wishes. Neither Mike or I have been on an ocean cruise, so we didn't know how the movement was going to effect us. We are prepared, I purchased Seabands and they are on, check. We have Scopolamine patches we can wear if needed, check. So far so good, the Seabands are working. Neither of us are having any issues with the motion of the ship. We did talk to one friend who is feeling slight motion sickness, so she has been to the medical office for some help. Pretty good odds on a ship this big.

This is our sunrise picture this morning, and another passenger caught a rainbow.

Breakfast at the World Cafe, which is a buffet style, then out for a walk. Good thing as later in the morning the walking track was closed due to high winds.

What do you do on sea days? We signed up for a ship tour.

Mike found a model of our ship. He is pointing to our stateroom. We specifically selected something in the middle of the ship to decrease issues with the motion. Seems to be working out for us.

The staff made this Gingerbread village for us to enjoy. The picture behind us on the staircase is something that changes frequently, but we happened to catch this picture that looked liked Christmas. We have small trees around the ship in various places. Including one in our room I brought from home.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love Christmas, so this is our decoration. Pretty sad, but the best I could do.

We scheduled our haircuts, and pedicures for me. We tried Mahjong. We have played a version online that we enjoy, but today learned that it is nothing like the real game. There was waaaay to many things to keep in mind. We left before we really even got started as we were overbooked.
We ran to a talk on "What lies in the Water Beneath Us?" Lunch out side on the terrace. They were grilling the fish right there, it was cooked to perfection, and the view was amazing.

Anyone who knows Mike knows that the sunshine and blue sky were calling him, so next on the agenda was lay out in the sun. There is a small infinity pool just behind me, so I was in the pool all alone. The view was fantastic, and the water refreshing. Today we were suppose to be in the 80's.

We are not done yet, I attended a Let's get writing talk, and found this will be a series of talks, and I sat in the Explores Lounge to see if I could see any flying fish or dolphins. I was excited, but only saw one bird. Mike met me for the Port Talk for tomorrow's visit to Cozumel Mexico. Tonight a reception was planned for all of us who are doing the World cruise. We filled the Star Theater. I have not been told how many are doing the full World cruise, but there are quite a few who are only on until Los Angeles. We cut out early so we could get to dinner. We ate at the Restaurant, which you eat off the menu. We did a shared table, and as always is the chance, we had two special couples. You meet all kinds, and not all kinds are a good match. LOL

I think I can be assured that we will not be bored on sea days. I hope this finds everyone taking time out of there busy lives to remembers the reason for the season, and enjoy each and every day.  We wake up in Cozumel Mexico tomorrow.
