April 17, 2024 sea day, 18 days left of 138
Happy Birthday my Mike. Today is his special day, so we will see how he wants to spend his day.He made two out of three in the hole.
Baggo at 10:30. They play from ground floor middle landing and top landing. Every day they add a new twist to the game. Today they lined the hole with blue and red bags, so if your bag caused an opposite color to go in the hole, other team made the points. On the top landing the two boards were placed side by side. Again if you put your bag in the other boards hole, or landed on the other board your points went to the other team. You are playing for bragging rights and a mimosa. Mike's team won, then sang happy Birthday to him. I may have had something to do with that. A wink emoji would be placed here if I could find it.
At lunch our trivia team tied for first place. Mike went up to do a speed round, they were closely matched, but in the end after 3 questions, we missed it by that much. Darn we are going to still count it as a win.
Susan and Mike brought a beautiful African card and present for Mike. She was very creative in her gift wrap and ribbon.
This was the group we gathered together for dinner in the Mandredi's private dining room. Back row Paige, Susan, Mike, Roseanne, Greg, and Jack. Front row: Matt, Marilyn, birthday boy Mike, and Mati. We were missing our original invited friends of John, Iris, Dale and Carol who left for home before we could celebrate
I had requested a cherry pie like dessert for 10 at Manfredi's. Instead this was delivered to our room, and when they cut it up they ended up giving Mike chocolate cake. Sometimes things do not work out like you planned. I tried to change desserts with him, but he only took one bite. I owe him a pie when we get home.
Mike wants to thank everyone for their birthday wishes. He feels blessed with his life and the friends and family that surround him. Life is good.
