January 16, 2024 Sea Day Day 28 of 138

These pictures are from Oahu, when we were leaving port. The pictures are too good not to share.

One of our fellow cruisers Karla was generous enough to share her pictures. I tried to get a shot, but we were just too late. These whales were having a great time.

Margaret our friend from Florida lead me in water aerobics. I did 30 min in the infinity pool. Fun way to start the day. Mike came out to document the event. He then left to walk 3 miles on the track.

We were scheduled to do the ship bridge tour next week, but we got a call and someone cancelled, so we got to do the tour today. It was a small tour of 2 couples and a 30 min tour of the bridge, introduction of the staff, and a tour of the situation room. The situation room would be used if there was any kind of emergency. The captain and his lead staff direct everything from this room. They have access to cameras, navigation charts, alarms, and communication with staff. The windows have a great view, best on the ship. The plaques behind the console are given to them at every new port. The captain says this is a few of them. Things you never knew.

The captain was very generous with his time, and he answered every question we asked. We found out Plan A is still for us to sail the Suez Canal, and Red Sea. Plan B is still being formulized, but if it is not considered safe for us on our planned route, we will sail around Africa. This is called the ripple effect. This may not be the trip we expected or planned for. We will hear sometime late March.

Tonight we have our Viking Sky vocalists singing Duets. Once again they did an amazing job of entertaining us.
