January 23, 2024 Sea Day Day 35 of 138
First Sea day after 3 full days of excursions, and walking on land. It is a pretty low key day. I am going to take it easy on my right foot as it was pretty sore after 13,000 steps yesterday.
For lunch they had an Eclair buffet. They were pretty, but what I had didn't taste like an Eclair. You can't hit it out of the park every time.
After lunch our friend Margaret is teaching Canasta and asked if I wanted to join. She has a couple of other Canasta virgins she will be teaching. It was a fun afternoon. My partner and I won the game, beginners luck. There are a lot of rules, and the scoring is boggling. I have 7 pages of rules to read, but I it will be a fun change to our sea day routine.
We got our passports back from Viking. They had collected all passports last week. It is always good to get them back.
Today is a celebration of the Viking Explorers Society. This is everyone on board who has been on a previous cruise. The music was by our Viking vocalists.
The captain lead the toast, introduced a passenger who has traveled extensively with Viking. They presented her with a large bouquet of tropical flowers. When asked how many cruises she has been on, they said one short of getting her own name tag.
Tonight we ended the night with another amazing performer. Juliette Primrose played violin for us, and she made the violin sing. She played from Lord of the Dance, The Phantom of the Opera, and Rock and Roll. She was entertaining and very talented. A great ending to the day.
