February 22, 2024 Sea Day Day 63 of 138
We are sailing toward Thursday Island, Australia, our last stop in this beautiful diverse country. Yesterday when we left we had 483 nautical miles to gets to Thursday Island. We woke up this morning to very calm seas. If you look at the picture above, that is a channel marker, and we are sailing with land just visible on the other side. If you look carefully you will see some of the reef sticking out of the water. When we look at a map, we have reef all around us.
Today again it is 84 degrees for a high, and the humidity is moderately high. So what do we do, why find a chaise lounge and take some time in the sun, and pool time for Marilyn. People give Mike a bad time about his love for everything Speedo, but he fits right in on the beaches of New Zealand and Australia. I need to work on my selfie face in the sun.
I told you they feed us well. Today as we walked into the Cafe they were handing out Alcohol drinks, and in the back for dessert as if we haven't eaten enough they planned an Eclair and Churros station. My favorite of the above Eclairs was a Salted Caramel one. I forced myself to try some of them only for research. I can hear some of you doubting me, but come on Really, research was necessary for the blog.
Tonight we had another wonderful program by Guest Entertainers. They sang Opera, the Bee Gees, and others familiar songs, we are both drawing a blank on what they sang, but we were singing along. They were Tenors, so think of famous tenor songs. The two of them were a fun and full of energy.
