February 24, 2024 Sea Day Day 65 of 138
Today has been a sea day with a twist. I will start off by posting yesterday's sunset, as I missed posting it in yesterday's blog.
Today we got to see and talk with our family. Katie, Eric and Harper let us see an evening in their life. Harper has a cold, but she was in rare form. We enjoyed her smile, signing the word "more" and saying more, and Thank you. This followed with videos of her eating. We also checked in with Don and Lynda who are watching our house, plants, and vehicle. We couldn't do this without a team. Thanks everyone! Our news: Viking has finely cancelled our planned itinerary through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. Our last 50 days of travel will change significantly starting from Cochin India we will head South again and the plan is to go around Africa. We knew it was coming, but the rumors were not good, and it is nice to see the plan. They are promising an included excursion of an African Safari for all of us who remain on the ship. Our stops include Cape Town, South Africa, our 9th Wedding will be spent in Walvis Bay, Namibia, and now we will be at Sea for Mike's 71st birthday. We will end up seeing Morocco, Spain and back to Portugal, which will put us back on our original itinerary. You can tell Viking has been working hard to put this together. They have given all of us the option to come home early from Singapore. We don't know how many will take advantage of this. Our plan is to look at what is offered and see if we can make lemonade out of lemons.
I am hoping you are able to enlarge this map, and see where in the world we are going to be traveling now. From our little group of travelers, so far we are all planning on completing what we started.Well these are not in the right order, but you will see what today's Viking Daily looks like. This is delivered to us daily with all the activities planned for any given day. They keep us as busy as we choose.
